spk_0:   1:56
here with us today. I could not even begin to do justice on her credentials and her background because she is has so much background, so much experience degrees and she's gone through programs and she's just incredibly knowledgeable. So I'm not gonna even try to do justice to her background in bio, but I will let her introduce herself. Andi kind of talk a little bit about who she is, why she's here and all the things. So, Theo, thank you so much for being on the podcast today. Um, welcome.

spk_1:   2:28
Well, thank you. That's that's quite nice. Everything that you've said. And yes, we have that privilege of being friends and business cohorts and we taking programs together on and Tom, it's been a wonderful gosh couple years. Well, almost two years, I think.

spk_0:   2:44
Two years. That's just crazy.

spk_1:   2:45
Yeah, well, for those of you that don't know me, my name is Theo Geonosis. And I'm a empowerment and business coach who are spiritual leaders for visionaries, for women that want to create impact in their lives. And one of the things that really, really turns me on, so to speak, is really allowing women to change and giving them permission to change and allowing them the opportunity to recognize that they can have whatever they desire in their life. Whether it be or many different business, a different lifestyle on the relationships. It's it's all there. So that is this. Currently, you know, the space that I'm in. I'm just loving this. I

spk_0:   3:34
love it. I love it. So why don't we take So this is where you're at now, which is amazing. And as long as I have known you, you have morphed and grown and such a strong leader in stepping out doing the hard things, making the things happen. But why don't we take a few steps back as to How did you get here? So So you're now like Google Background. You know, Theo runs her business full time. But it wasn't that long ago that Theo Waas Ah, mom and was running her business and learning and educating and working full time and doing while of crazy things. So he'll still alone. By the way, they didn't stop happening. But what? What? How did how did all this conspire over the top over over this timeframe? Like, let's start kind of that like the beginning of how did your business for like you said, This is where I'm at today. What was your business? Where did start like when you first said I'm having my own business? What was it

spk_1:   4:27
so really we're all go back to is is 2012. And that was really my my kids at the time. Were you 12 right? And 11th and 12th grade, actually. And so it was really that realization of what I want to do next and where I want to go with my career. And so it was at that time that I just I didn't know what I don't get. I really want to advance my rare and kids are gonna be gone out of the house. Did not the college, What do I want to dio? And it was really that realization of what I want to do with the rest of my life. So I actually decided to go back and get my MBA. And I completed my online MBA program in 2014 which is when my youngest graduated high school. And at the time I thought, OK, you got this MBA. I'm gonna just kidding ass. I have always been in the corporate business world, have also worked for government organizations and always done business systems, business management, finance, marketing, all the things. And I figured this would be a was really gonna be my ticket, Judah, that next level and what they really bound Waas. Once I got the MBE, which I was very pleased to to have completed, I didn't sit with me. Anyone who are I recognise that ask. My kids went off to college and then I was learning based with nobody in my home on I wasn't really what I wanted to do. And so I went ahead and got a job and having increase in salary and again just was always feeling this this nagging pull to do something different, do something that was more creative for me and something that on I am more control over as far as where it was going and while I had been doing the online program, I was is. So this was 2000 you know, 13 14 when the Internet was really becoming something new and different. So that was how I started. Recognizing that there's a huge market here in the online world, I don't have to just market to my local community. There's people on on the online world that our world by and what I ended up doing. Waas in 2016 15 16 is when I really recognized that people needed my skills to run their businesses. So I started out as a podium and a V and doing on social media management for other bills, online business owners And in 2000 on 17 and 18 is when I decided You know what? I really want to start coaching. I don't want to be behind the scenes anymore, supporting. I want to be the leader. I want to be able to help women direct lately. And so I started my online coaching misses her, shifted into that while I was still in a 9 to 5 job. So that was was pretty much what got me even interested in doing that. And, um and I managed to create a successful online business as sort of that side hustle. Everyone calls of the side hustle and on. And, um so that was that was sort of the beginning.

spk_0:   7:39
Awesome. So So what you're saying is that the thing you started with is not necessarily where you are now. Exactly. So I think this is something that's so important for people to understand when you're going through running your business as you morph and change, it morphs and changes. And that's not wrong. Um, at a climb. We were talking about this the other day and she's like, Well, you know, I've had my business for six months, and now I feel like it's going this totally different direction. And it's like, Okay, are you the same person you were six months ago? But nothing wrong with the fact that it's morphing and changing the constant? The consistent is that you're running your business. Your business is not running you right, which just told us. I know, But I think it's so cool seeing how that happened in real time for you from starting out, you know? And can you explain Because some people have may not know on the podcast, what does it look like? So your business initially came. You start running your business initially and you are an O B. M and V A. What does that actually mean? And what were the task? Whether that look like and then how How did you make that shift from that part into what you're doing now with the coaching, Can you talk a little bit? About what? Because some people on the podcast may not know. What is it? Oh bm What is a V a lawyer. What does that look like? Yeah,

spk_1:   8:49
well, and one thing I just wanna speak to that I just mentioned was, you know that me having an online business is very dynamically different than a corporate career or any kind of career. And, yes, me are in a career. We feel like that's what we're doing in order to do it forever. And so it is interesting when you start to grow in the online world that you can change where you were six months ago. It's okay to change for today, so I think that's that's very gallant. And on Opium is an online business manager, and basically it's a project manager. To some extent, it is working for someone behind the scenes of their business. So they're in the face of the business, and you just run all the systems of the operations and the email tunnels. When people join the programs, you onboard them. Ah B A is a virtual assistant, so it's a little bit of a step down that started, speak or just not as great of responsibility. Usually, a virtual assistant works alongside of the business owner on there may not need as much it did depends because there's different levels and it really is a partnership with the business owners, Boris, how much they want to give over to virtual assistant. So the online business manager is just much more on intensive. And, um, you know, the kind of is like an operations officer or a project manager for someone in the online world, so that's kind of the difference. And it really fit well for me because I was able to do a job. Nine Divide and I could do the administrative pieces or the clients that I was working for in the evenings and on the weekends and things like that. So they were still running their business during their third time, their daytime hours, and I was able to do the administrative pieces when it wasn't so critical to be. I'm available since I was working.

spk_0:   10:39
So how did you This is like eso. You had multiple Children that you were raising. You were working on your N B A. You were working a 9 to 5 job and you were running the back side of other people's businesses in your own business as an OBE MBE a depending on the client. That's a lot of things like that. That's not like like, Oh, yeah, you know, like I stopped by the grocery store on the way home. I'm so efficient, like you're literally doing, like, full time responsibilities in five places. So how how did you manage that without jumping off the roof?

spk_1:   11:13
Well, I think for me it was keeping my eye on the vision. And litigation has actually changed, as you know, and I think that's important to us. It's okay, toe. Have our visions change. Um, and initially my visualize I wanted to. I knew I wanted to be in my entrepreneur. I'd are always been an entrepreneur. Always had that spirit I don't like Oh, bed and breakfast. I've only owned the official business. I've always had that, but I always also, um, had the comfort of of another page at room to speak. So I just was able to block my time and just be very, very focused on my vision and very committed to my vision, so that yes, the worst sacrifices, things I gave up and didn't have as much of a social life with some of my friends But I knew when I was doing my schoolwork when kids needed to get to practice, I was still going to gains. And it's really just a matter of being efficient with the total amount of time in your day. So, for example, when, um, you know, I was taking the boys to practice or something along those lines while I was waiting for them in the car, I already could be studying where I would be doing something that come to to facilitate purposes. I wasn't just sitting there watching him. I mean, I waas, but, you know, again, it's just the priorities and commitment and really kind of doing some time locking Teoh.

spk_0:   12:40
That's feel that's all really good points, and I think that's part of it, too. Is having that connection to where you're going. I think people miss that part, like all I want to have a business or I want to do this thing whatever the thing is. But if it doesn't tie to your long term vision, if you don't see how the task you're doing today, whether you hate them or love them are part of a bigger plan, it's really hard to stay focused. And then you get resentful and angry about what you're working done right now because it doesn't make sense, right? Even like medial things. What? I was talking about this the other day, actually with somebody else. But like the medial things of, like going and getting groceries or, you know, at doing laundry, those things do are not for me personally like their delegation task whenever possible. But there, there, things that you know, if they're part of I wanna take my relationships are important to me and taking care of my family. Then they become on honor of a task rather than a burden of a task. I think that's like, so insightful from what you're saying is like I knew I was running, I was gonna run this business and it was gonna be something else. And so I adjusted my schedule and those things. I didn't give up things. I just did things differently. And that's

spk_1:   13:50
exactly exactly. And eso is being efficient with the time you have. And yes, I mean, fortunately, I'm a morning person, so I would get up, you know, an extra early, and make sure I needed to do whatever it was I needed to do that day or, you know, kids would get settled. Unfortunately, you know, at the time my kids were teenagers of they were, you know, more or less on their own doing their own things as well. So that did give me more time. But, you know, staying up late and, you know, and not watching that TV show you are watching it on replay, huh? You know, just those little tweaks that you do the oh, really again. Keep focused on the on the magician.

spk_0:   14:28
Awesome. I love it. Love it. So at some point, I remember what year you said. Itwas would've been 2018 that you transitioned looking at my calendar to collect. I I knew then. But I'm trying to say it was about two years ago. Nearly. I think it's been there has been a lot of a year, year and 1/2 your transition from I'm running my business and I'm and I'm doing my 9 to 5 to at my business is my full time income. And even though this may not be everyone's goal, some people you want, you want you you enjoy your career and That's great for you. So what helped you make that decision that I love? Because I know you liked what you were doing from a career standpoint. What helped you make that decision that you know, As much as I love my career, I want to run my own business. How did you navigate through that decision?

spk_1:   15:13
I think it was kind of like in late 2017 where I really, really understood the power of a mindset. I'm really started doing some deep inner work. And what is it that I really wanted out of my life again? It's that transformation concept, that sort of ah ha moments like, Oh, I will do something different. And what is it that I wanted to do? Uh, sort of that clean slate comic con step. And I recognize that I didn't want to be more of service and work with women directly. And so I did a lot of deep personal work at the time. And then I also recognize that having being in a 9 to 5 and trying to grow my business was actually a little bit of a crutch, because even though I said, Oh, I really love this business. I knew I was getting that paycheck every other week. And whether or not you know, we like to see that as a crutch for me. Itwas That's just my experience. I recognize that in my mind, even though I said I wanted to grow this business and be on my own, I was still not, um, mentally envisioning doing that. So in other words, I still knew I have a paycheck, and I recognized in 2018 I really needed some help and guidance. And so I, um, hired a one on one coach and really took started taking some programs that we're really going to propel me in that direction. And that was really what started me focusing on the fact that I need to just shipped my priorities when you did not only say what I want to do, I need to now do the actions and be that person B, that next level person be that are doing business owner. And so in 2000 18 I really again just prioritize my time and both this on growing my business, being more visible, putting together the programs and working with elephants. I was able to shift my schedule and, um, work with plans on the evenings and work with claims on the weekends in 2018 is when um, I said this is it. And so having done a lot of spiritual work and really working on manifesting and creating the vision and the desired lifestyle that I wanted in 2000 March of 2019 my job at the time that the contract ended a few months earlier than it was supposed to. So March of 2019 the universe basically said, OK, you want you want to be your own business and other You want this and this is what? And you're ready. You've done all the work here. You go about

spk_0:   17:53
that transition. How is it to go from working because you've spent basically your entire career working 9 to 5 for somebody else? So you woke up one morning and you didn't work for someone else anymore. So So how does like, how did that feel? How did that go? How did you go from being efficient and productive for someone else to efficient, productive on your own vision? Yeah, like

spk_1:   18:21
Well, you know, there there is a moment, you know, originally on that one day it was like I remember thinking Well, wait a sec. I was thinking of maybe doing this in May and June. It's like what it's like. No, that wasn't I really recognized very quickly. I mean, after, you know, sort of that day was like, Oh, get this. Now it's my time and injured. What was interesting to to see evolved was that all of us and I'm because I typically had more time. I'm gonna kill under. I actually was approached and was hired by three more clients to be there, One of one coach. The reality was technically, I didn't have time in my calendar for three new clients. As you as I had time available, the client showed up. So it was an interesting transformation from this damn queen of Wow. I am now doing what I wanted to dio. I'm doing exactly what I said. I wonder. I want work from home, have my own hours and work with women as they transform and build the road business. And so the first couple of months was was a little bit of like fantasy land like Wow, this is super cool. This is the process. And I you know, I've been able to be really structured working from home all along, you know, with just again the time walking and things. So I was very efficient with setting up my business in that same manner. Uh, but it wasn't until about six months later. So, like late summer of last year that I went Oh, my goodness. I never really took the time to transition my mindset in my business design and my business vision from part trying to bolt because it is a big shift. It is all of a sudden Oh, I am, like, one source of income and working through a lot of the money mind sets that really goes along with that because husband, very enlightening, because I don't have that page. I mean, from another source to kind of all that. I know that my minimum expenses were covered on, but I'm also just looking ahead, and it's like, Okay, so now I need to get health insurance on my own errand. Now, I need to cap systems different systems in place to support me, doesn't. So, um, you know, shipped in some of the finances, but also recognizing that now I have the time to have a variety of two creative variety and income streams. It's not just from one source.

spk_0:   21:03
Frankel. So what do you think if you had to give someone advice so that you walked through that? I've got two questions. That same question, but two different sets of advice. So somebody who is kind of what's your advice for one? Somebody who is running their business while working full time. And maybe that's their intent. Maybe it's not, but also, maybe, what is your advice for somebody who is ready to make that move toe full time in their own business? What is your advice is for both both, uh, people or both humans.

spk_1:   21:35
So for the person or the woman that is currently in the 95 the goal really is to shift into up creating the income to have that be your full time business, I'm just saying, my biggest tip is to communicate and with your partner, communicate with your kids and let them know that this is a bigger vision. This is something that you really are passionate about and get them involved. I What I see happens so often is, is me, you know, especially there's kids. It's like we find them to be interfering with our business or, you know, I need to go to this and then that's where that that edge comes up and then that sort of frustration piece. But if you get your kids involved, talk to your partner. Talk to your spouse insight. This is really important to me. How can we, in our families federal, come up with time blocks where I can just close the door and focus on my business? And one of the fun things that I always like to suggest whether it be a partner on spouse, uh, you know, kids is kids love to take photos, and we need photos if we're gonna be in online that the kids involved, we you know where the example for the kits and our friends and our peers. So why not let them see us be an entrepreneur being a leader? And Bell were up with the understanding that oh, I can't have my own business from home and here's how big it works. So I think it's the advice is really check in with your social, your current household on and your friends let your friends know. I mean, I had to, you know, not be as socially involved because I waas. But my friends knew I I had a goal. I have vision. And so my time with them became more valuable because they knew that I was busy doing something else. And so it was very supportive. So I think it's it's reaching out to your network, reaching out to your community, reaching up to those close to you and letting them know that this is really important to you. It's not just kind of a fly by night. I want taking some more money. Um, so I think that does that cancer. That first part of the question it does.

spk_0:   23:46
I think it does. Yeah.

spk_1:   23:48
Um, and I will say for me to on one of the harder things west be ableto you know, from a 9 to 5 job. Then go come home, have some dinner and change my mind set into working for a couple hours. Um, during those transition times, one of the key things I really like to suggest is that you really just kind of change your energy. Whatever happened during the day, come home, take some deep breaths, have something to eat, Uh, really kind of just get rounded again and shift your rather than just kind of, you know, diving in from when one job minds that to another job mindset. Have that transition time and really be respectful of yourself as a human and say Okay, now we're going to do this for a couple hours and also be able to, um uh, just use the time you have efficiently. So there was times where I was doing client calls on my lunch hour while I was working. There was times where I would take my 15 20 minute breaks and I would go check social media and do some posts. Um, you know, those of those little energy leaks on time that we we lose throughout the day? Sure you'd like to spend the 20 minute break? Maybe, you know, getting to know some of your co workers. But where is your vision? Where's your commitment? And if it is to really making this business be your souls reports of income, then there has to be some sacrifices along the way. So on your second part of your question was about person that's transitioning.

spk_0:   25:26
That's made the transition. What is your tip? Just okay. Now I'm working. I may believe I'm working 9 to 5 on my own. What kind of what are some tips to make that work successfully?

spk_1:   25:38
I truly believe that having a mentor or having a coach is t because we can were great at helping others and were able to see we have perspective for others. We don't always have that big vision picture for ourselves. And even if we do, it's hard to be our own on, uh, accountability partner. So that's the advantage of a coach. Plus, knowing that we have one engaged that a little bit further on the path is always a great resource for us. So really knowing that you're not alone and including others, including a network establishing a or, you know, corporate, these of women, perhaps that you put you chatting with on that hold each other because if you're used to being in a work environment where there's other energies around, there's other people, there's other engagements, there's other social things, and you're not used to working at home. It's a It's a big difference to me about yourself. And so your understanding that you know you don't always have to stay at home either. You know, once we get through some of these these changes that are going on globally, pick up your computer and go work at a copy shop. If you're feeling stagnant in your office, move your office around on. You know, change the energy in your your office space, your house because that will right there. Just stir those, create creative juices and get you re energized. Bring the news back. And the other thing, too, is if there's times where just nothing's coming. You can't think making the right campaign oppose. It's OK. It's OK to take a break because we're creating our own schedule at home on depending upon your human design. You know, you may need to go and and, uh, go for a walk in the middle of the day, and that's OK. It's okay to work. Maybe a little bit more in the evening than then. You may have been used to It's OK to go to market in the afternoon, so getting out of the nine defined mindset is actually really ashamed. I remember even probably as recent as four months ago, probably for the holidays. I remember thinking my sister and lives about three hours way was like, OK, why didn't come that weekend? But I can come to next weekend. And it was that reality of You know what? I don't have the travel on the because anymore. It's like, I'm gonna go on Monday, you know? And so we don't recognize how we've been program so much with this 9 to 5 mentality and on the weekends, we do errands and the whole thing. So I think it's really allowing yourself to design your day. That feels right for you. Um, and not thinking you need to work between this hour in this hour and in the evening is when you do you go to the gym, former or whatever it is, you can actually do that. Middle of the day. It's OK, So I kind of mine, Mike, the ones that really stand out to me,

spk_0:   28:44
I completely agree. And I think even in the last, you know, while we're recording this were and still in the middle of the pandemic walk, you know, locked in your house scenario, working from home. And so I think that's something I've even recognized from working from home is Sometimes I do take a 2030 minute breaking go for a walk in the middle of the day. There's something about breaking up and you do that naturally in an office in an office, you naturally get up, walk around Haiti glass stolen. So about a saying, you know, So you end up moving, and I think when you're working in a non office, you have to kind of force yourself to make those those moves and force yourself to not just stare at your computer and work like nonstop and, like, actually go move your body and that and move around. And I think one thing I've found for myself during this time and working in my house, I think it will be very beneficial at the time when I decide to work, you know, full time, whenever that is. I don't know when that will be, because I'm pretty content what I'm learning in what I'm doing in my drop now. But if that becomes a situation that having a coworking space or having a coffee shop I like or having somewhere to go a few days a week. Um, it's probably gonna be a good fit, but I think that was part of like you're saying the way you find that is giving yourself the space to find that out. And I think that's like such great advice, because the last month of doing this has given me so much light to I've moved up around my office. A silly is that sounds like I've I've noticed things that distract me that I've have moved. I moved my screens farther that, like just silly things that don't matter. But it's taken me. It's been about a month now to figure out where. Okay, this is what feels good for. Now I take a break around. This time. I make sure to go outside. Here, take the dogs for a walk, just get out of the house. I set myself up. I do my morning this way. So I think giving yourself that Grace to figure out the schedule that feels best and not making it be I have to be working from 8 to 5 straightened room. That's that's such a great such a great tip in such a great, um, thing that I've been personally walking through in real time during this odd time in life. So I feel like it's very applicable right now.

spk_1:   30:56
Well, and I think you and I are similar in that we are pretty organized and structured, and we're used to that. But for the listener, that maybe might not be used to being this scheduled. It is important. And now you find yourself working at home, where from home is you do need to make sure that you don't just let they evaporate on. And I go back to the time blocking and the scheduling and, you know, schedule some things in your killing her. So you know, when you can, you know, just take off are so that you don't get to the end of the day going. Gosh, what did I do today and recognize that you are on social media? Just scrolling. It's like schedule in the times that are gonna be for you to build your business for you to reach out to clients, for you to do emails so that it's not so scattered and just play around with that? No. Try a sort of a template for the week that I'm gonna try doing this Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week and see if that feels good. And if it's not, you know it likewise watching you know, Webinars or being involved in groups, you know, we can say I'm so busy that I was doing this. This is this. But all you were doing was absorbing on. And, you know, you can take many programs and you want, but if you're not actually doing the work, then you're not integrating. So I think for those that aren't used to being on a schedule, just get your little calendar out on for you know, because everyone has access to that and just do different time. Lots of when you're going to watch the webinar with and then you'll know when you can schedule your clients. Yeah, go ahead and in manifest those clients in the time that you have available.

That's something I oddly enough, So by a was on the podcast A to this point, you know, a couple weeks ago and she talked about like when she started, she put time on her calendar for her clients, and at that time she was extra living with her mother. And so her mama coming, Can you help with that? And she goes, No, this is my time for my clients that they didn't have any clients yet, But she had booked time out in her calendar that this is time for client time. And so that's what I do during this time. And then, sure enough, very similar to what you said. You know, magically that the clients appeared for that time frame. So it's like leaving space in your calendar for what you have that vision

on in this is anything going back to, you know, just establishing some boundaries with kids and friends and houses and say, You know, if you're going to say if you guys all agree that every two hours when you come home, you're gonna do work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, then honor that Don't let it, you know, get kind of like, Oh, well, yeah, I was going to work. But I'm not because they need to see them. That's important to you on. So go. If that's what you agree to, then you should be productive in those two hours or whatever it is you choose.

I really have to say that no matter if it's relationship, it's a product you're selling. If it's of business, if it's ah, hobby. If you're not 100% passionate about what you're doing, then I would take a look at it and say, Do I really? Is this something that I really want to be doing? Because how you sure is is 100% everything. If you're not 100% passionate about whatever it is you're doing, it will show and it is reflected. So why not have fun? Why not do something that is totally lying for you? It doesn't matter what it iss, and given the time that we've we've had with this local chef, as far as I'm concerned, we have the clones late we can now redesign our life Whatever. However we want it to be we can design our family Like who wanted to be waken do whatever we want. We've been given this opportunity to really go get introspective and decide what we want And so why not do something that you always wanted to dio? And it's never too late There's never age limit its live from your heart would with your passion and show up in that manner and magic hunts
